On Monday 16th March we will be meeting upstairs in the Robert Gillow in Lancaster for our special St Patrick’s Day edition of the Irish tunes class and slow session.
All are welcome to join us, whether you’ve attended before or not.
Because this week is a special event, the cost to take part is £11 per participant. This includes being taught a tune between 2.15 – 3.00, followed by a hot buffet, after which we will play tunes together in our slow session until 5.00 pm. (Please note: the pub opens at 2.00 pm, so if you get there a bit early don’t worry, the doors should open at 2.00 on the dot and our class will start at 2.15).
If you would like to come just for the buffet and session at 3.00 pm, but not take part in the tunes class first, then there will be a cost of just £6. Family and friends of all our musicians are welcome to join us for this.
IMPORTANT: If you would like to come along to our special event, then please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible to book your place as I need to notify the Robert Gillow of numbers in advance. Please indicate in your email whether you wish to book for the whole event (£11) or the buffet/session only (£6), and whether you have any special dietary requirements. You do not need to pay until you come along on Monday.
My usual general notes for the benefit of new members: teaching is nominally ‘by ear’, but there are resources available at the class to support this, including ABC and sheet music. I will also play the tune we are learning slowly for you at the class, to record on your phone or other recording device so you can practice along to it afterwards.
Our class and session is free for listeners, who are more than welcome to come along, have a pint of real ale or a cup of the Gillow’s lovely coffee, and enjoy the music.
I hope to see you there!
